Nursing in The Middle East

In order to work in the Middle East as a Registered Nurse, an overseas-trained nurse needs to:



Qualified nurses will normally require at least 2 years post-graduation experience to work in the Middle East, but this can vary depending on the positions available.


Registration Requirements

Nurses wishing to work in the Middle East usually need to gain sponsorship from a hospital. The easiest way to obtain sponsorship is through the help of a recruitment agency which specialises in that area. The agency will also assist in organising other necessities such as work permits and visas. 



There are a range of benefits from working in the Middle East, although again these can vary from position to position. However, they can include:

  • Flexible Contracts (Normally 1-2 years renewable contracts are offered)
