For overseas nurses
wishing to work in Africa, Asia, Central America or South America, there are several opportunities, either in
full employment in hospitals or as a volunteer. There are many
opportunities in countries such as Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, Falkland
Islands, Hong Kong and more. You can find
more details of these in our Jobs section.
As a nurse volunteer,
you can use your professional qualifications and experience to help
improve healthcare delivery in many countries. To become a
volunteer nurse, you will normally need to be a Registered General Nurse
and have 3 years post-qualification work experience. Additional diplomas
in tropical nursing and/or HIV and AIDS experience can also be
desirable. Some placements may also require qualifications in teaching
or training. There are many organisations that offer assistance in
identifying permanent and volunteer opportunities. |
